When Caroline and Thomas reached out to me about the prospect of photographing their „Berghochzeit“ (Austrian mountain wedding) in Annaberg, Salzburg, I couldn’t contain my excitement, knowing that their day would be filled with love, and beautiful details all around. Both Caroline and Thomas wanted to capture their special day from beginning to end: from getting ready in the morning at Caroline’s childhood home, to celebrating at the local Postwirt in Annaberg with all their friends and family.
I showed up to Caroline’s home and it was bustling with family and her closest friend. The amazing makeup artist Sophia from The Beauty Dry Bar was also there, getting the bride ready for her big day. When everyone had left for the venue, the bride quickly slipped into her stunning dress by Rembo styling, and added the last few touches. Afterwards, Caroline’s maid of honour had the chance to surprise her with a gift and letter from the groom (cue the tears!). He had sneakily bought her a bracelet for their big day that they had both seen in Salzburg. She quickly exchanged the one she was wearing for her new one, and soon afterwards we were off to the venue in the mountains of Annaberg.
Talk about a stunning backdrop! The mountains, including the very prominent Bischofsmütze, made for the perfect surrounding on their summer wedding in the alps. They had set up everything near a pond, and it couldn’t have been more beautiful. After the ceremony (a Freie Trauung, which in Austria isn’t as common), we snapped our couples photos, and later on headed to the reception, where these two were showered with love and congratulations from their friends!
